Mushroom Lamp: 5 Ways to Use the Nova at Home
1. Put A Mushroom Lamp On The Bedside Table
A mushroom lamp is a small table lamp with a rounded dome shade over a short base. The Nova has an opal glass dome on a matte gourd base, about 18 cm tall. On a bedside table, set it to warm amber and dim it low.
A glass-dome mushroom lamp glows across the whole shade; a lamp with an open shade throws light down onto the table; a bare-bulb accent light shows the bulb itself. Decide which kind of light you want before you compare lamps.
2. Use It As A Small Light On A Shelf
At 14 cm across the shade, the Nova fits where a full-size table lamp does not. Places it works:
- Bedside table
- Bookshelf
- Side table
- Desk corner
- Hallway console
- Sideboard
3. Switch To Cool White At The Desk
The Nova has three whites in one lamp. A short press moves between them, so the same lamp can be a desk light in the afternoon and a soft glow at night.
The LED is built in. There is no bulb to buy or change.
The three settings:
- Cool white The brightest-looking setting, for a desk
- Natural white A neutral everyday light
- Warm amber The softest setting, for evenings
4. Dim It Down For The Evening
The dimming is stepless, with no fixed levels:
- Step 1: Short press to choose the white you want.
- Step 2: Press and hold, and the brightness glides down.
- Step 3: Let go where the light suits the room.
5. Stand It Beside A Reading Chair
It is corded, so it plugs into the mains and stays at full brightness all evening with nothing to charge. Put it where the cord reaches a socket.
The opal-white glass dome sits on a matte gourd base with a slim dark foot ring. It is about 18 cm tall with a 14 cm shade and weighs about 400 g. For the full details, see the Nova lamp product page.
