The canopy opens to 105 cm / 41.3 in across, about a metre of overhead shade for head, neck and shoulders.
Does UV get through on a cloudy day?
UVA passes through cloud and window glass, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, so shade is useful on grey days too.
Does a sun umbrella replace sunscreen?
No. A UPF 50+ canopy adds overhead shade, but light also reaches skin from the sides and off pavements. Keep using sunscreen on exposed skin and treat Haven as the extra layer.
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF is the rating for fabric. UPF 50 fabric blocks 98% of UV and lets through one fiftieth, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Haven has a black UV-blocking under-layer rated UPF 50+.
Will it fit in a bag?
Yes. It folds to 40 cm / 15.75 in long and 5 cm / 2 in wide and weighs about 390 g. The carabiner loop handle also clips to the outside of a bag, strap or hook.
