Now I know when the kids are home
Hung it on the inside of the front door and I hear it from the kitchen over the extractor fan. It sits at just the right level — it cuts through, a little run of bells, and then it stops. Took a minute with a cup hook. The bottom bell is the one doing the work; it swings and everything above it follows.

It's a narrow thing — about the length of my forearm and a half — and lighter than you'd guess from photos. That turns out to be the point: on a closing door it swings and chimes rather than knocking. The brass has a dull warmth to it rather than a shiny gold look, which suits our hallway.

The bells hang on jute rope (17 inches in length). You can loosen the rope to adjust the length of the bells, if needed. It has three bells, all of which are the same size. The antiqued treatment gives them a pretty vintage look. They do jingle. They sound like the bells that are attached to a horse’s harness for sleigh rides around the holidays. They have a slightly slower and deeper tone to their jingle compared to the small, shiny aluminum jingle bells that are often found on shop doors and Christmas decor during the holidays so if you are expecting that sound you won’t get it with these bells. Their sound is very authentic to the bells outfitting a sleigh horse. If you live in a snowy state, you’ve probably heard those bells before. It’s a much more pleasant sound than the small aluminum bells and hearing them harkens you back to another era. I have mine hanging in my modern farmhouse kitchen and they look great. All looks and no chime. Color: Brass 7Size: Small 7 Vine Customer Review of Free Product They look nice and rustic and hang well, the hanging loop is fairly low-profile and doesn’t interfere with a doorknob. The jute twine is sturdy and has held up indoors with consistent use and two dogs playing with them. Unfortunately the clappers are very weak and the bells are spaced so they don’t chime against each other. That might suit someone wanting a subtle sound, but I bought these for my dogs to signal when they need to go outside and they’re far too quiet for that. )

Bigger than expected!. Color: Brass 2Size: Small 2 I should learn to read descriptions better. I was expecting pretty bells that were smallish. They are pretty but they were much bigger than I thought. On the other hand, I sent a photo to my daughter exploring that I was disappointed with their size but she flipped out because they were exactly what she was looking for to finish out her Christmas decorations for her fireplace!
