Frequently asked questions
What does it offer that a pile of ordinary pillows doesn't?
Ordinary pillow piles compress after 20–30 minutes, allowing your sitting position to slip and requiring rearrangement for upright support. Alcove uses a structured 35D core that retains its form beneath your weight. A shaped lumbar curve supports your back at a 105-degree incline, while suitably positioned armrests support your arms. That support remains after two hours of sitting.
Will it support me during occasional laptop work in bed?
Yes. Lower-back support and the reclined angle keep you sitting upright. With 8 inches between them, firm armrests support your forearms at typing height. Use a lap desk beneath the laptop. If you work for more than 2 hours, pause for breaks; full days of work still call for a desk rather than a bed.
Is this just for sitting, or is overnight sleeping on it suitable?
Its intended use is sitting upright for 1–4 hours. To rest partly upright, position the backrest behind you, adding neck support and a pillow beneath your knees for comfort. When sleeping overnight in a lying position, choose a pillow made for that purpose instead of using this seated backrest.
Will its size leave much space on my bed?
Measuring 22 in high, 18 in across and 12 in front to back, it is roughly pillow-width but deeper. It fits against a headboard on queen and king beds; smaller beds can accommodate it, though it is noticeable. Keep it standing for storage, without folding or compressing it.
