Wake up without neck pain now
I used to get up with a stiff, sore neck most mornings. This holds my neck properly and that's gone. Flipping to the taller side when I'm on my side is perfect.

Right height however I sleep
I switch between back and side and no pillow ever suited both. The two heights fixed my neck ache because I finally get proper support in both positions.

Neck feels supported all night
My partner and I both had neck issues and this sorted them for both of us on different sides. Firm right where it needs to be, no more morning aches.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know which side to use — and do I flip it every time I change position at night?
Match the pillow to your primary sleep position: the lower 3.5-inch side for back sleeping, the higher 4.5-inch side for side sleeping. No need to flip it every time you shift at night — most people set it for their main position and it works well across brief changes.
I'm a side sleeper — how do I know if 4.5 inches is right for me?
The 4.5-inch side suits average shoulder widths (roughly 14–18 inches). A quick test: lying on your side, your neck should sit parallel to the mattress — not angled up or down. Narrow shoulders may prefer the 3.5-inch side; very broad shoulders may need a taller pillow like the CalmEden Align™.
I have chronic neck pain from an old injury. Will this help or make it worse?
Contoured support prevents the neck from bending into awkward positions overnight, which is a common pain driver. Expect a 3–5 night adjustment period. If your pain stems from a specific condition — herniated disc, stenosis, whiplash — check with your doctor or physical therapist first, and stop if pain increases.
It looks quite firm in the photos. Is it too hard?
The cervical edges are deliberately firm (45D) so they hold their shape under your head's weight; the central cradle is a softer 35D where your head actually rests. Coming from a soft, fluffy pillow it will feel firmer for the first few nights — that's the support working, not a flaw.
Can I use a pillowcase without ruining the contour?
Yes — a standard queen case (20 × 30 in) fits, and a thin cotton or bamboo case won't affect the contours. Skip thick quilted cases. Wash the pillow's own cover every 3–4 weeks even if you use a case.
