Your table stays dry no matter how cold the drink. These travertine coasters are cut from natural stone whose open pores draw condensation off a glass and hold it, so moisture never reaches the wood beneath. Two-million-year-old material doing one quietly vital job, set out in a simple silhouette that belongs on a calm table.

Each coaster earns its keep with no fuss. Just set the glass down and let the stone work.

  • Open-pored natural travertine pulls sweat off the glass
  • Condensation held inside the stone, away from your tabletop
  • Two-million-year-old natural material, cut and finished simply
  • Protects wood and linen with no effort from you

Overview

Every wooden table carries the ghosts of cold glasses — pale rings that never quite polish out. Strata™ stops the next one before it forms. Each coaster is a slab of natural travertine, the same pitted limestone Romans built with, cut thick and honed smooth. The stone is naturally porous: condensation wicks into the surface instead of pooling under the glass, so nothing sweats onto the table and the coaster never suction-cups to the bottom of your cup. Set out as a stack of four, they read as sculpture; in use, they're the quietest insurance your table has ever had.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth and let air dry. Avoid soaking, harsh cleaners and acids (citrus, vinegar) — travertine is natural limestone. A drop of stone sealer once a year keeps it stain-shy.

Materials

Natural cream travertine, honed finish with the stone's original pores left open — that's what lets it absorb condensation. Cork-dot feet protect the table beneath. Each piece carries its own fossil-flecked grain.

Your table's quiet bodyguard

Cold glasses sweat. Strata™ drinks it. The stone's open pores pull condensation in before it can slide onto the wood below.

Cut from real strata

Travertine forms in mineral springs over thousands of years — every pit and fleck in these coasters is geology, not decoration.

Strata™ Travertine Coaster Set — solid natural travertine, drinks drips no rings, set of four

Why Strata

Absorbent stone instead of sweating ceramic, weight that never lifts with the glass, cork feet that guard the finish — a set of four that earns its place on the table.

They actually absorb the sweat

Iced coffee in July is my table's worst enemy. You can watch the ring of condensation just disappear into the stone. Nothing reaches the walnut underneath.

Guests pick them up

The hexagons stack into a little column on the coffee table and every single guest picks one up and turns it over. The pitting makes each one different — mine has a tiny fossil shell in it.

No more coaster stuck to the glass

The thing I hated about our old ceramic set — lifting the glass and the coaster clattering down after it — just doesn't happen. The stone is heavy and the surface stays dry.

Frequently asked questions

Do they protect against hot mugs too?
Yes — travertine shrugs off hot mugs and teapots as easily as cold glasses. It's stone; heat marks aren't a thing.
Will they scratch my table?
No — each coaster has small cork feet on the underside, so stone never touches your tabletop.
What if I spill red wine on one?
Blot it promptly and rinse with plain water — the honed surface releases most marks. For heavy use, an annual wipe of stone sealer keeps the pores stain-resistant.
Are the four coasters in a set identical?
Same shape and size, but the grain, pitting and fossil flecks differ on every piece — that's quarried stone, not a printed pattern.
How big is each coaster?
Roughly 10 cm across — room for oversized mugs, wine glasses and tumblers alike — and cut thick enough to feel substantial in the hand.
Which shape should I choose?
Circles read softest on round and oak tables, hexagons stack into the best-looking column, squares suit clean-lined and marble surfaces. Same stone, same function — it's purely about your table.

Muy bonitos, elegantes. No tan aborbentes como esperaba, especialmente si el vaso tiene hielo.

These are very handsome travertine coasters. They feature a porous surface with a cork backing that will protect surfaces from scratches. Each coaster weighs about 6.7oz (190g) and has a diameter of about 4 inches (10cm). They include a gold metal holder for convenient storage.

Bought these coasters to match a travertine bowl I put on my coffee table and it was a perfect fit. Great quality and like the soft bottom to avoid scraping the table. I also really like the gold holder to keep it all organized in a nice looking way.
