Overview

Most candles burn a tunnel straight down the middle, leaving a ring of wasted wax and a room you have to leave before you fall asleep. Wick™ never lights the wick. A small warm bulb sits inside the opaline glass globe, directly above the candle, and melts the wax from the top down — gently and evenly, with no soot, no smoke, and nothing to blow out.

Three warm shades: Ivory glows the quietest, Amber carries the most colour, Terracotta sits deepest and closest to firelight.

Care

Unplug and let the bulb cool before touching the globe — it runs warm by design. Dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth, lift spilled wax from the well while it's still soft, and keep water and oil off the wood base.

Bought it because of the cat

We stopped burning candles entirely after she knocked one off the shelf. This solves it — nothing to knock over that is on fire, and the wood base is heavy enough that she can't shift it. It does get properly hot around the top of the globe so I wouldn't put it somewhere a child could reach up to it. Terracotta, which is darker than it looks online and I prefer that.

Scent is softer, not weaker

I'll be honest, the first ten minutes I thought it wasn't working because there's no obvious hit of fragrance the way there is when you light one. Come back in half an hour and the whole room smells of it, and it's the actual scent rather than the smoky version. Amber shade. Cord is a decent length, though it comes out of the side rather than the back so it's slightly visible.

Which candles fit in it?
The well fits standard votives and pillars up to about 8 cm tall and 7 cm across — most jar candles and votives included. Very tall or very wide multi-wick candles won't melt evenly under a single heat source.
Is the scent as strong as burning it?
Warming builds more slowly than burning — give it eight to ten minutes — then holds steady for hours with the true top notes intact, since nothing is being burnt off.
Is it bright enough to actually use as a lamp?
As a mood lamp, yes — soft enough to read by at close range, pleasant to leave on overnight. It won't light a whole room.
What happens when the bulb goes?
A standard replaceable warming bulb comes fitted. Let it cool, lift the globe, and swap in the same wattage — a brighter bulb will scorch the fragrance.
Can I leave it on, and what plug does it have?
