That's the work opal glass does. It takes a bulb's point of light and spreads it across the whole sphere. Your nightstand keeps its surface, your eyes keep their calm, and the wall carries the light a lamp used to.

Care

Wipe the glass with a dry or barely damp soft cloth. Switch off and let it cool before handling. The globe lifts off its seat for cleaning — support it with both hands.
