A charging bull, cast in a single piece of solid brass. The head drops below the shoulder line, horns sweep forward, front hooves brace — pure momentum, frozen on your shelf.

Look closer and the surface rewards you: a scrolling lotus-and-cloud saddle across the back, rosette medallions on the haunches, recesses darkened while the high points shine. No lacquer, so this brass bull statue keeps developing character every time you pick it up.

  • Solid brass, one-piece casting
  • Hand-finished dark recesses and bright edges
  • Unlacquered — the patina keeps evolving

Overview

Look at what is actually on your desk — a tray, a mug, a cable, a plant that needs watering. All of it soft, quiet and agreeable.

Rally is a charging bull cast in brass, caught mid-decision — head dropped, horns swept up, hooves braced. That posture is exactly why a piece the length of your thumb holds a corner of a walnut desk in a way a smooth pebble never will.

Care

A dry, soft cloth is all it wants. The brass is unlacquered, so the bright areas warm and slowly darken where your fingers rest — most people prefer it after a few months. A little brass polish on the high points brings the shine back any time you want it.

Materials

Solid cast brass, left unlacquered, with the detail cast in rather than applied — a scrolling lotus-and-cloud saddle, a raised rosette medallion on each haunch, a small relief animal on the flank, curled tail and upswept horns.

  • Finish: Antiqued patina — recesses darkened, high points rubbed back to bright brass
  • Underside: Raw cast metal, hollow-relieved between the hooves
  • Size: ~5 cm nose to tail, ~2.5 cm tall, ~2 cm wide, ~12 g

Posture over size

Head already down

Most desk objects are passive — a tray, a dish, a stone. This one is mid-charge: head dropped below the shoulders, horns up, front hooves braced, tail curled. That posture is the whole reason it holds its own at such a small size.

Fingers setting the 5 cm brass bull down on a leather desk pad, showing its true palm scale

It ages in

Brass that earns its colour

The recesses are darkened and the high points rubbed back, so the horns, shoulder and hooves come up bright while the lotus-and-cloud relief behind them stays dark and deep. Nothing is lacquered over the top, which means it keeps shifting — the places your fingers find will warm and darken first.

Labelled detail view: solid cast brass, antiqued patina, about 5 cm long

Made to pick up

Sized for a desk corner

It closes inside one hand — small enough to sit beside a keyboard, on a monitor shelf or in a bookcase without needing a plinth or a clear surface. The four hooves are ground flat, so it stands square on leather, wood or stone.

Everyone who sits at my desk picks it up

Ordered it after a rough quarter, half as a joke, and it has become the thing people reach for the moment they sit down. The casting is properly good — you can see the little animal in relief on its side and the pattern over its back is crisp rather than mushy. The second one now lives on my father's bookshelf.

The patina is what sells it

Mine came with dark bronze sitting in all the recesses and bright gold on the horns, shoulder and hooves, so it reads like something old rather than something new and shiny. Sits dead flat on my leather desk pad — no rocking on any of the four feet. Two months in, the spots my fingers keep finding have gone slightly warmer in colour, which I like more than I expected to.

Better cast than the price suggests

The price is honestly silly for something cast this well — the relief across the back is crisp right down to the hooves and the horns come up properly bright against the dark. It lives next to my monitor stand and I end up turning it over in my hand while I think.

Frequently asked questions

What size is it?
About 5 cm nose to tail — it closes comfortably inside one hand and takes up less desk space than a matchbox. Built to be picked up and turned over. Full measurements are in the materials tab.
Is it solid brass or plated?
Cast brass through and through — not plated steel, not resin with a brass coat. You can see it on the underside, which is left as raw cast metal. There is no lacquer on the outside either, which is why the surface keeps changing with handling.
Where do people put it?
Desk corners mostly — beside a keyboard, on a monitor shelf, on a leather desk pad. It sits just as well on a bookcase shelf, a mantelpiece or a windowsill. The four hooves are ground flat, so it stands square on leather, wood or stone without rocking.
Will the finish change over time?
Yes, and that is intentional. The brass is unlacquered, so the bright rubbed-back areas warm and slowly darken where your fingers rest while the darkened recesses stay dark. Most owners let it happen; a little brass polish on the high points brings them back if you would rather keep it bright.
Does each one vary?
A little, and that is part of cast brass. The depth of the lotus-and-cloud relief and the balance between dark recess and bright high point shift slightly between pieces, and the overall tone runs from a warm yellow-gold to a deeper bronze-brown. Shape, pose and dimensions stay consistent.

I never write reviews but…. Color: Medium(7.3 X 4.3 X 4.7") I don’t normally write reviews but this Brass Bull is so beautiful I had to. Just got back from a stay on Wall St and couldn’t find a metal bull out there so bought one on Amazon to commemorate the experience. I love to trade and thought it would be a nice piece for my office and am so happy with this. Feels very heavy, extremely sturdy compared with the plastic ones the vendors in NYC were selling. It is hollow and sounds like has some metal residue rolling around in the center as mentioned in other reviews.. but other than that the piece is gorgeous. Before purchasing I had read reviews about the small imperfections on the bull, but I feel that it gives it personality and is an inherent mark of the artistry. It is a truly stunning piece. Will likely buy again as a gift in the future. 5 of 5 stars ) !I never write reviews but… ! !I never write reviews but… ! ! ! You need all the help you can get. Buy the bull. Focus!. Color: Small(l3.74"xw2.36"xh3.34") It's fun, about five inches long, pleasantly golden and heavy. I use mine as a paperweight on my trading desk. Especially inspirational. This is a BULL! (not castrated). May it bless you with the courage and inspiration to trade fearlessly! )
