Pasture is a charging bull cast in brass, caught at the moment of decision, with head down, horns swept up and hooves braced. That posture is why a piece the length of your thumb holds the corner of a walnut desk as a smooth pebble never would.

Care

A soft, dry cloth is all it needs. The brass has no lacquer, so the bright areas warm and slowly darken where your fingers rest, and most people prefer it after a few months. A little brass polish on the high points restores the shine whenever you want.

How large is it?

About 5 cm from nose to tail. It closes comfortably inside one hand and takes less desk space than a matchbox. It is made to be picked up and turned over. Full measurements are in the materials tab.

Is the brass solid rather than plating?

Cast brass throughout, not plated steel and not resin with a brass coat. The underside shows it, because it is left as raw cast metal. There is no lacquer on the outside either, which is why the surface goes on changing with handling.

Where is it usually kept?

Mostly on desk corners: next to a keyboard, on a monitor shelf or on a leather desk pad. It sits equally well on a bookcase shelf, a mantelpiece or a windowsill. The four hooves are ground flat, so it stands square on leather, wood or stone and does not rock.

Does its surface gradually alter with use?
