Frequently asked questions
How large is the moon it projects?
Roughly one metre wide when the head is 2–3 metres from the surface. Bring the head closer for a smaller, crisper disc, or move it back for a larger, softer one.
What powers it?
Any USB-A port will do: a phone charger, a power bank, a laptop, or the USB port found on many bedside lamps. It runs on safe 5 V power and has no batteries inside.
Can it be aimed at the ceiling?
Yes. The gooseneck stays at whatever angle you set, so it works on walls, ceilings and the sloped ceilings of attic rooms. Projecting onto the ceiling is the favourite for reading in bed.
Does the head get warm?
The small head warms up in use, as most projectors do. Turn it off when you leave the room and let it rest after about five hours of continuous use.
Does it project only the moon?
We sell only the warm golden moon, because it suits the soft, candle-warm light that CalmEden rooms are built around.
Is it suitable for a child's room?
It runs on low-voltage 5 V USB power. Keep it out of small children's reach, on a shelf or behind the headboard, and turn it off after bedtime.
